Joan was a very special person and cousin in my life--from my regular babysitter as a child to my supporter and encourager over the years. Her positive attitude, kindness, sense of humor, acceptance of her life's journey, never give up attitude, zest for living life and deep spiritual belief in our Lord equipped her to raise a wonderful family and enjoy success in her ventures. I feel very honored to have been a part of her amazing life. Jim Tudas

Very sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She was a colleague and friend from B-W School District libraries. Her warm and welcoming nature and her bravery in the face of illness and loss were an inspiration to all who knew her. There are hundreds of kids everywhere who remember you as their library "teacher".

There was no one like Joan. I only knew her for a short time, but I saw the genuine, authentic person she truly was from the moment I met her. Joan not only brought joy and love back to my ex father in law, George, in addition was an amazing "grandma" that filled the void for my daughter, Kendall!. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed..
