Obituary For Joan V. Springer

Age 81, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, of Brentwood, formerly of Midway, PA.

Wife of the late William Springer; mother of Michael (Amy) Springer and Mary (Alan) Stamper; grandmother of Emily (Matt), Evan (Kylah), Ethan, Anna and Scott; great-grandmother of Casen and Rowan; daughter of the late Frances and Hilary Modrak; sister of the late Mary Rota. Also survived by her nieces and her friends. Joan proudly served her country in the U.S. Army. She was a devout member of St. Sylvester Church and loved spending her time at Brentwood Public Library. Joan enjoyed watching Jeopardy, talking politics, and going to garage sales. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. where a blessing service will be held at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Brentwood Public Library, 3501 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
