Obituary For Johanna R. (Amato) Aul

August 3, 1916 - December 27, 2016

Aul, Johanna R. (Amato), age 100, peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 of Baldwin, formerly of Beechview. Beloved wife of the late Aloysius; mother of Joan (the late Tom) Kinzler, Aloysius, Jr. "Sonny" (Kitty) and Donna (Norman) Joseph; Nunny of 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; sister of the late Tony Amato, Maime Benevenuto and Jenny Molinaro. Johanna worked in the steel mill during WWII as one of the original "Rosie the Riveters". At age 60, she became a practical nurse at St. Francis Hospital. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 2-7 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Friday morning at 10:30.
