McConnell, John A. Age 64, on Sunday, October 4, 2015, of Baldwin.

Beloved husband of Dena McConnell; loving father of Lisa (Raymond) Stewart; son of the late Donald, Sr. and Hazel McConnell; pre-deceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. John served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, 1968 - 1970 as a Medic. He then served in the Army Reserves for 11 years as a Staff Sargent. He worked for Brinks, Inc. for 15 years and DHL as a driver for 15 years, from where he retired. He was a member of the American Legion Honor Guard Post 935. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday evening 5 - 8 p.m. Where a Blessing Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors at a future date.
