John A. "Nick" Morgan

Obituary For John A. "Nick" Morgan

Age 95, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Brentwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

He was the husband of the late Jacqueline "Jackie" Morgan; father of the late John Morgan, Jr.; and brother of Robert Morgan, Sr. and Richard McDonald. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Clara Fink and Doris DeMarco, as well as his brothers, Charles, William, Leroy Morgan, and John McDonald. He is survived by many nephews and nieces.

As a World War II veteran, John received an honorable discharge from the Army. John began his working career at the Pittsburgh Sun Telegraph. Leaving the Sun, he worked for many years with his three brothers: first, as part of the Morgan Brothers Heating and then as part of the family store, Morgan Brothers Building Supplies and Garden Center. It was here at the store you would see John helping customers find that perfect Christmas tree during the holiday season.

After retirement, John and his wife Jackie moved to their farm in Belle Vernon. Both remained active in retirement by operating Morgan's Antiques Shop in Belle Vernon. John enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales, always looking for those special items to stock in his Antiques Store. After 20 years, he closed the Antiques Shop and retired full time.

In full time retirement, John spent time with family, friends and his farm cats. He enjoyed his daily breakfast meals at the Belle Vernon Wendy's, where he would share stories and laughs with Gracie and her crew at his "reserved" table. Visiting and sharing snacks with the Queen of Heaven office staff earned him honorary grandfather status.

His sense of humor and life stories made people smile. He was a close brother, fun uncle and good friend, he will be sorely missed.

Friends will be received at the John F.     Dear Morgan family: Mike and I had the pleasure of becoming really good friends with Mr. Morgan. He shared many loving memories about his late wife Jackie. You knew how much he loved her by the way he spoke about her. We would visit daily having many front porch talks about life. Mr. Morgan loved hearing about our nieces and nephews ball games and watching videos of the game. Mr. Morgan always asked Mike "Did you see him?" Or "was he there" referring to deer hunting as that was the highlight of Mr. Morgan day seeing new pictures of the deer on camera. The love he had for his 9 cats and his crazy puppy Ozzy was well known. ❤️ Mr. Morgan was a true kind soul that always spoke what he was thinking. He had a heart of gold and now Mr. Morgan is resting peacefully with Jackie his loving wife. -Mike and Alyssa Francia 💕

    He was a very amazing men I can't believe to hear the news he will be missed by me and my 4 children ill miss seeing him at Walmart and at Wendy and driving around in his big red van we all love ya John and we will miss ya and think of you always
