Gerda and family: We were shocked and saddened to learn of John's passing. John was such a pleasant man who I enjoy chatting with at the gym while I waited for my husband. Gerda, I know this is such a difficult time and I hope you are taking care as you grieve. You are all in my prayers. Stefan and Helene Pawlikowski

I knew John as a great police officer for Whitehall and after he retired I would see him at Healthtrax gym. He was always a pleasure to talk to and I know he lived a good life as he loved his family. May God bless his soul and the family he loved. Skip Brown- Whitehall Fire Company

My Grandpap was one of the best men of whom I had the honor to meet. He was a great man and true friend for the almost 24 years we knew each other. I cannot recall a time that he wasn't kind and fair or didn't have a smile on his face. One of mine and his favorite stories of his was when he said that he had never caught a bigger fish until the time I put the bait on his hook so it didn't come off as easily. After I did that he tells me that the fish he caught on that next cast was his biggest ever. At the time of this story I couldn't have been much older than 12 years old. I have many stories and memories of him like this one. He never failed to make me feel special and loved. Whether it be fishing together like that in that story or coming to my games when I was a kid and even having sleep overs at grandma and grandpap's house. We always had fun, we always had laughs and we always had love and friendship. Such a great man and such a great life lived. He did so much for the people around him in his life and the world was a better place because of him. I couldn't be more proud to be named Tobias JOHN, after my Grandpap John. A name that I will always cary with pride and love. I love you Grandpap, I miss you so much already. What I wouldn't give for just another few minutes together. Love, Toby
