Beloved son of the late John and Dora Mirchich; cherished brother and brother in law of the late George (Fran) Marshall, Sylvester (Rosalie) Mirchich, Michael (Dora) Mirchich, Dushan (Mileva) Mirchich, Mildred (Miles) Radosevich, Dorothy (Milo) Winovich and Sophie (Duke) Perovich; and many late and surviving nieces and nephews. John, the youngest of eight children and the first in his family to go to college, graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He served honorably in the United States Navy, serving as an intelligence officer with a top secret clearance in Japan and elsewhere. He was devoted to his Serbian Orthodox faith and was a member first of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Southside and then the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Whitehall. John was very devoted to his family and played a significant role in their lives. He was the family historian, the resident scholar, and an all around wonderful son, brother, brother in law and uncle. In particular, he took great joy in following the academic, professional and personal accomplishments of his many nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 450 Maxwell Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Cemetery, 790 Stewart Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
