Davis, John A. Age 93, on Thursday, August 7, 2014, of Castle Shannon/Whitehall.

Beloved husband of Rita Dobosh Davis for 17 years and the late Alene Davis for 53 years; father of John A. Davis, Jr., Kathleen Lanfrankie, Ken (Kathy) Davis and Darlene (Tom) Freker. John was also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, stepchildren, step-grand and great-grandchildren. He was a US Army veteran of WW II and a longtime member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, and will be long-remembered for the contribution of his voice to the music ministry of St. Gabe's. John was retired for over 31 years from Duquesne University where he was the Director of Physical Plant. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Saturday and Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 11:45.
