Obituary For John E. "Jack" McNamara

November 17, 1929 - December 13, 2015

McNamara, John E. "Jack" Age 86, on Sunday, December 13, 2015, of Pleasant Hills.

Loving husband of the late Antoinette "Toni" M. (Daniele); beloved father of Johnette (Michael) Antone, Elaine (William) Stevenson and Daniel (Heather) McNamara; proud grandfather of Gabriel, Gianna, Sean and Erin Antone, Sara and Rebecca Stevenson and Cameron, Samuel and Grace McNamara. Jack was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, friends, and his great caretakers at Davita Dialysis (Jefferson) and Brookdale of Mt. Lebanon. He was a proud USMC Veteran serving during the Korean War. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:30 am. If desired, family suggests contributions to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243 or Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.

    Sorry for your loss. My mother went to Davita with your father till her passing in 2013. She called him Smiley because thats what he did ... smile. We also would sit by him at sunday mass at St. Elizabeths. Such a nice man.

    Jack was a dear friend and gentleman. He loved life, served his country,was a proud Irishman and a proud American, and he showed his family and friends the true meaning of loving and caring.
