Age 89, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, of Whitehall, formerly of Carrick.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Marie (Kuszaj) Coharchic; father of Melissa (Buddy) Blackburn; grandfather of Jessica (Gavin) Mack and the late Chelsea Mack; great-grandfather of Alexis, Kerwin and Delia; brother-in-law of Pat Matthews. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. John's family would like to thank UPMC Family Hospice caregivers for their compassion during John's illness.
