Obituary For John J. DeRose

Age 90, on Saturday, June 19, 2021, of Butler, formerly of the West End. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Hoffman); loving father of Joann (Edward) Miller; proud "Pa Pa" of Matthew James Miller; brother of Alfred DeRose and the late Marie Vitale, Carl and Ernest DeRose. Also survived by his partner Mary "Tish" Crouch, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was a long time hair stylist and proprietor of Giovanni Hair Styling in Greentree. John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 am. If desired, family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice.
