In Memory of Uncle John Fleckenstein We were saddened to hear of the passing of our Uncle John Fleckenstein, who left us this week at the age of 84. John was an uncle by marriage, but over the years he became much more than that — he was someone we always enjoyed being around. John had a calm, steady presence and a dry sense of humor that made him easy to talk with. When Sandy and I were younger and visiting the Pittsburgh area for family gatherings, John and his family often welcomed us into their home. I'll never forget one visit when I was having trouble with my old FIAT. John offered to help with "the only tool he knew how to use" — a sledgehammer. As an accountant, manual labor wasn't exactly his specialty, but that moment captured his good-natured spirit perfectly. John was always friendly, interested in others, and genuinely cared about staying connected with family. You could count on him to show up — whether it was a wedding, graduation, birthday, or any other occasion — and to make the effort to be part of our large extended family. He was simply a good man — thoughtful, dependable, and kind. He will be missed and remembered with warmth and appreciation. Don & Sandy Pawlowski

Fleck was one of my favorite people growing up. He was like a brother to my grandfather, the late Raymond Luffy Sr. No one could make my pap laugh like Fleck - my siblings and cousins and I loved to hear stories of Fleck and Pap's glory days. After my pap's death, being around Fleck was the next best thing to being around my beloved grandfather. Especially when he and Donna attended my wedding - it meant so much to me. Fleck was such a special person to me and the entire Luffy family. He will be deeply missed. We send our love to the Fleckenstein Family during this difficult time. Love, Kailee Graham & Jonathan Dinklage
