Obituary For John J. Koenig

March 22, 1938 - January 17, 2015

Koenig, John J. Age 76, on Saturday, January 17, 2015, of South Baldwin.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Rose M. (Maier) Koenig; loving father of Sandy (Greg) Formosa; proud Pap of Amanda and Alyssa; brother of George (Madeline), Ferdinand (Marie), Dorothy, Joan (Ted) Smerecky; Paul(Linda), and the late Rosemary DeRunk and Amelia Koenig; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. John was a life member of the South Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department and worked for Sears Roebuck for 38 yrs. until his retirement. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday from 2 - 8 pm. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Church at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to South Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department Station, 5311 McAnulty Road, Pgh., PA 15236.

    Mrs . Koenig, Sandy, Greg, Amanda and Alyssa, We are so sad to hear about Mr. Koenig. I can only say that your home was my second home all through high school and I have so many fond memories of my times with you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family. We will truly miss him. All of our love and prayers.
