Obituary For John L. Black

Black, John L., age 79, passed peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Beloved husband of 52 years to Mary Ann Black; loving father of Stephanie (Carl) Miller; proud grandfather of C.J., Ryan and Samantha Miller. He served in both the US Marines and US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. John enjoyed traveling, casinos, the Pirates and Penguins. Due to the current health crisis, there will be no visitation. Interment will be held privately in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements entrusted to the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227.

    So very sorry to hear of John's passing. What a wonderful man, with a wonderful family. Mary Ann, Stephanie, Carl, CJ, Ryan and Samantha, you are in my prayers. I'll never forget his stories of working in China. Trying to teach them Ls. It's not Rotus Rake, it's Lotus Lake. Oh and "Shit happens" He was one of a kind and so are all of you.
