Age 93, peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, of Bethel Park.

Beloved husband of the late Gladys (Barry) Homer; loving father of John B. (Lesley) Homer and Kathleen S. (Thomas) Keyes; proud Pap Pap of Christian B. Homer; son of the late John and Sophia Homer. John was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 12 and loved attending the retiree meetings. Recently, he received his 50 year pin. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 11:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, 1101 Western Avenue, Pgh., PA 15233.
