Age 85, on Friday, April 28, 2023, of Baldwin Borough. Beloved husband of the late Margaret L. (Farrell) Havrila; loving father of Kathleen (Michael) Paul, Kristine (the late Jeffrey) Phillips and the late John E. (survived by Erin) Havrila; cherished grandfather of Kelly (Michael Mitcham), Bethany, John Glen, Julia, Sara, Katie and Emily; great-grandfather of Warren and Sloane; survived by his brother Edward (the late Darlene) Havrila; favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. John served proudly in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15.
