We worked at TJHS together for many years and, despite my initial hesitation, like Sherry above, I took the time to know him and found lots of goodness and kindness and, of course, silliness (ever the jokester).   Pat and I were classmates from 1st Grade (St Sylvester - Brentwood) all through college at Slippery Rock. Always the jokester, but definitely serious about all things sports-related. I was always "Margaret" to him, thanks to our year with Sr Carmella. Oh, the trouble he got into, but it gave us much to laugh about later. Pat could be so silly and goofy at times, but you always knew he would be there as a friend if needed. I'm sure he will be missed by many, RIP Pat.

  Pat was introduced to me by our mutual friend, Maria Bova toward the end of my junior year in high school, his sophomore year. We became friends pretty quickly, he was so fun and silly and I enjoyed his company. I remember we both worked at Brentwood Day Camp that summer and he "trained" his campers to "kill the counselor" when they ran into me...not really kill, but just drive me a little crazy. My senior year was made more joyful because of Pat. He took me to all three of my senior dances, the Snowball, the GAL, and Prom. Here's a picture. Fortunately for much of my senior year I had access to my dad's Ford Galaxy 500 Convertible a lot and I decided to help teach Pat to drive. One thing I neglected to teach him was how to slip the car into neutral if the engine stalls, and when we were driving into Brentwood Park, going about 20 mph, the car stalled and Pat threw it into park...the sound was deafening! My dad said it was the only car in his entire life that needed to have a new transmission. I don't think I told him that whole story till he and I were both much older! It wouldn't have mattered, my parents, Jane and Ed Sieg, loved Pat very much. With Pat at the wheel I remember driving around with Jack and Ron Lazenga along with Gary Simonson, we drove a lot when gas was 25-30 cents a gallon! I loved Pat's friendship and his helping to make my senior year one adventure after another. I got to see him at a Brentwood Alumni Luncheon a few years ago and enjoyed seeing him again. Interestingly, as a referee, Pat met both of my sons who played football, one for Mt Lebanon and the other for Franklin Regional. My heart goes out to his family, just know that he gave me such fond memories and that he was dear to me.

  I am saddened to hear of the passing of Pat. My family knew of Pat from his many years as a life guard at Brentwood swimming pool. He is also remembered for his many years as an usher at St. Sylvester's Church. He always greeted everyone with a warm hello at Sunday Mass and supported the annual festival. He will be missed. He always remember his sister Judy and would share the anniversary remembrance of her death with me as Judy was our babysitter. Pat has been and will always be in my thoughts. Please know my prayers are with all of yours and for Patrick. May you find solace in all the wonderful memories as he will be missed. Mary Bailey

  Pat was my elementary Phys. Ed. teacher 44 years ago and, when he moved positions to the high school we became co-workers and the best of friends. Those who took the time to know him were very lucky to see the gentleman that he was. A very giving and kind soul whom I will never forget and will always be grateful for his friendship.

  Thank you Pat for your friendship while we both were working at McClellan Elementary. Pat took the time to help me Load into his vehicle clothing that was collected from students and we delivered the clothing and articles to a Womens Shelter in Pittsburgh. RIP Pat

  I am very sorry for your families loss. Pat was part of the PE Staff at WJHSD when I was hired in 2002. He was the very first person I met in the district. He loved to joke around and he went out of his way to make me feel welcome to the PE staff on my very first day of work. He also made sure that I was invited when the PE staff would go out for lunch on inservice days. He was very entertaining. Rest in peace Pat.
