September 28, 1946 - January 29, 2020 Conway, John R. "Jack", age 73, unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, of Overbrook. Beloved husband of 44 years to Georgianna (O'Malley); father of Fr. Michael P. Conway, STL and Erin M. Conway (David Picchi); brother of Dennis and the late Janet Conway. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Jack wore many different hats throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of St. Fidelis high school seminary and Mt. St. Maryâs university; he was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country honorably in the Vietnam conflict. However, he was most proud of two things: his family and his Catholic faith. For more than 25 years, he was honored to teach religious education at St. Norbert Parish, helping to prepare hundreds of children to receive the Lord in the Eucharist or to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit at Confirmation. He also gave of his time as an adult server, especially at funerals, and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was often a quiet man, and had a very dry and sarcastic wit, but those who knew him well knew that he had a big heart open to God. He always understated his own place in the world; no one can overstate how he will be missed. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 1-6 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:30.
