Age 69, surrounded by friends and family on Monday, September 26, 2022, of Bethel Park, formerly of Brentwood.

Beloved husband of 42 years to Mary Antoinette (Fogiato); loving father of Zac (Sara), Alan "AJ" (Jessica) and Aaron (Kendra); cherished grandfather of Gabriella, Alivia and Tova; son of Edna Ann (Wagner) and the late William A. Phillips; brother of Dianne (Lloyd) Jenkins, Ken Phillips and Ron (Bonnie) Phillips. Also survived by nieces and nephews. John retired from Port Authority after 25 years. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service which will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. If desired family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association, 810 River Ave # 140, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
