Obituary For John S. "Jack" Henning

Age 99, on Thursday, September 10, 2020, formerly of Johnstown and Whitehall.

Beloved husband of the late Jacquelyn "Jackie" (McCarthy) and Eleanor (Seitz) Henning; loving father of Gary, Keith (Patricia) Henning, Marilyn (Shabbir) Lakdawala, Richard (Sue) Seitz and Ann (Patrick) Irwin; grandfather of Amanda (Conrad) Rudy, Scott Henning, Marcy (Dane) Plaza, John (Rebecca) Henning, Jacquelyn (Shawn) Walker, Emily (Mike) Bowling, Lauren (Zach) Ward, Aimee Seitz and Courtney Irwin; great-grandfather of Jude, Ashlin, Reagan, Owen, Eleanor, Jackson, Lila, Addison, Elle, Elizabeth, Solomon, Sadie, Xavier, Robbie and Malcolm; son of the late John and Elsie Henning. Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He also was proud to graduate from Carrick High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services in Zion Lutheran Church on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Zion Lutheran Church, 4301 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

    Sympathy to the Henning family. Enjoyed our time in Zion choir with director Ross Munn. Will always remember them,
