Obituary For John William Maurin

January 13, 1926 - August 28, 2018

Maurin, John William Age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, of Carrick, born in Lawrenceville.

Beloved husband of the late Chloe Mae (Zeiler) Maurin; devoted father of Lee Maurin of Irwin, Shirlee Pedersen of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Ashby of Frazier Township, Joanne McGarvey of Irvona, PA, Robert Maurin of New Kensington and the late Raymond and James Maurin; loving grandfather of 11, proud great-grandfather of 22, and great-great-grandfather of four; son of the late Frank and Katherine Maurin; brother of Peter, Joseph and William Maurin, Ann O'Leary and the late Frank, Mary and Frances. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their families. John was a retired U.S. Steel worker; a hard working man who supported his wife and seven children. He was a devoted Christian who served his entire life to God, his church, and family. He is a former member of Allegheny Center and Mars Alliance Churches. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday, August 31, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 PM, with Pastor Paul Cope officiating. If desired, family suggests contributions to The Great Commission Fund of Christian and Missionary Alliance.
