Kubiak, Joseph H.

On Friday, August 31, 2018, Joseph Herbert Kubiak, age 69, passed peacefully, while surrounded by his loving family. Born February 25, 1949, son of the late Walter J. and Marion M. (Bloedow) Kubiak of Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane E. Kubiak and daughter, Melanie E. Kubiak. He is survived by his sons Brandon (Heather) Kubiak and Mychal (Alicia) Kubiak, daughter Kristyn (and partner Alex Desrochers) Kubiak, brothers John (Jayne) Kubiak and Christopher Kubiak and sister Katherine (Jeff Beck) Kubiak. Joe, a hard-working and selfless man who loved camping, fishing, and the outdoors, was a devoted husband and father who resided in Castle Shannon. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Yuma, Arizona, where he showed a love and talent for music, learned several musical instruments, and graduated from Yuma High School. He attended Northern Arizona University and Arizona Western College, before earning a job at KPHO TV as a camera operator in Phoenix, Arizona. There he met his wife and they moved to Southern California for bright opportunities as broadcast engineers. Later in life, he and his wife moved to Pittsburgh to be closer to her family, where he enjoyed taking walks around the community park and spending time with his family. Friends and family will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Saturday, September 8, from 5-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held at 8 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Joe's name be made to your favorite charity.
