Obituary For Joseph J. Paul

April 20, 1943 - August 7, 2017

Paul, Joseph J., age 74, peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, August 7, 2017 of Pleasant Hills. Best friend and beloved husband of Linda Paul; father of Dean Paul, Eric Paul, Lisa (Doug) Martin and Bud (Jennifer) Herrod, Jr.; grandfather of Aaron (Amanda Opfar) and Amanda Herrod; great-grandfather of Lilleigh Abraham-Herrod; brother of Wayne (Millie) Paul, Barb (Joe) Veraldi and John (Cindy) Paul. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday and Thursday, August 9 & 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions in memory of Joe to Allegheny Cancer Center, 320 E. North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212

    Linda and family, From the first time I sat behind you and Joe in church, I knew and felt the love you had for each other. That love will never die even though Joe earned his wings to heaven.     To the Paul Family: So sorry for your loss. I have known and bowled with Joe for years, Have always found him to be pleasant and happy. I know how much he enjoyed his nascar trips. Joe will be sadly missed by all who knew him. I will be unable to attend service due to other commitments. He is in God's hands now with no pain. My sympathy and prayers are with you all.
