Obituary For Joseph P. Machi

December 20, 1924 - November 10, 2014

Machi, Joseph P., age 89, unexpectedly on Monday, November 10, 2014 of Brookline. Loving husband of 53 years to Nina R. Machi; beloved father of Dorothy R. (Richard) Honeygosky, Frank J. (Christine), Joe C. (Cindi), and the late Robert Machi; proud grandfather of Alyssa R. (Timothy Brutscher), Carina L. and Alexander C. Honeygosky, Jordan A. Machi, Carissa R. and Bryce G. Machi; son of the late Frank and Dorothy Machi; brother of Antoinette Natto and the late Michael, Mario, Rose, Anthony, Antoinette and Frank Machi. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joe was a former devoted co-owner of Machi Produce in the Strip District and a Christian family man who was devout in his Catholic faith. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 8:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X (Brookline) at 9:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Paul of the Cross Monastery, 148 Monastery Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
