Obituary For Joseph P. Schmitt

April 1, 1921 - October 1, 2016

Schmitt, Joseph P. "Moe" Age 95, on Saturday, October 1, 2016, of Whitehall formerly of Carrick.

Beloved husband of Louise (Pack) Schmitt for over 70 years; loving father of Judy (Joe) Graner, Jim J. (Phyllis Kappert) Schmitt, Bob J. (Carolyn) Schmitt, Chris M. (Kevin) Schultis and David Pack. Also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Joe was the last survivor of nine children to the late Rosina and Joseph Schmitt. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and lifetime member of VFW Post 1810 and a longtime member of St. Canice Church. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions in Joe's name to a charity of one's choice.
