Obituary For Joseph Sieniawski

Joseph "Joey" Sieniawski Age 87, peacefully went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 28, 2024 of Whitehall, originally of McKees Rocks.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph "Joey" Paul Sieniawski, a remarkable man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Joey peacefully entered eternal rest on December 28, 2024.

Joey was born to the late Walter Sieniawski and Mary (Surowiec) Burka on May 25, 1937 and the beloved brother of the late Florence "Flo" Burka. He spent his formative years in the close-knit community of McKees Rocks. His bond with his hometown was unbreakable, and he proudly graduated from McKees Rocks High School in the Class of 1955.

As a youngster, he worked diligently at Loews Penn Theater, where he was responsible for cleaning chandeliers and setting up bowling pins. His humor even shone through his job title, often joking about being a "Stripper" - a can stripper, of course! He found the love of his life, the late Patricia Ann (Bonner), while working at the Continental Can Company. Their marriage was a source of enduring love and commitment, and together, they raised two daughters, Judith “Mandy” (Bill Bryant) Sieniawski of Elizabeth and Marianne (Michael) Schafer of Bethel Park.

After his time at Continental Can Company, he pursued further education to become a Respiratory Therapist. He dedicated the rest of his career to Forbes Regional Hospital, where he worked until his retirement in 2000. During these years, he was fortunate to have the finest coworkers, who became cherished friends.

Joey was a doting Pappy to his grandchildren, Novalee, Justin, Emily, and Brielle, as well as his great grandchild Chloe. His family meant the world to him, and he reveled in every moment spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his faithful four-legged companions, "Snickers" and "Sunshine." Also survived cousin to Debbie (Tom) Krigar, Jackie Kaye (God Daughter), and the late Doris (Andrew) Kocis and Shirley Surowiec. Survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins as well as his brother-in-law John (Lorna) Bonner and the late sister-in-law Mary (John) Deffner.

Known for his warm heart, sense of humor, and infectious spirit, he brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Friends and neighbors often described him as “humble” and one of the "sweetest" individuals one could ever meet.

Joey's faith was unshakable, and as a devout Catholic, he recited the rosary daily, finding solace and strength in his prayers. As a proud member of St. Elizabeth Church in Baldwin, he enjoyed the fellowship of the St. Elizabeth Men's Group and dedicated his time to the annual Spring A-Rama fair.

He was a man of many talents and passions. An avid car enthusiast, he found solace under the hoods of automobiles and enjoyed attending local car cruises. He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics and pulling them apart. Joey took great pride in his Polish heritage and often delighted those around him with the joyful melodies of his accordion and the lively rhythms of the polka. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers, Young and the Restless, Blue Bloods, Andy Griffin Show, Everyone Loves Raymond, the Big Bang Theory, and Evey True Value Home Improvement Hour radio show. Later in life, he became an avid late-night YouTuber, delighting in watching videos about cars, accordions, music and DIY projects.

In his quiet moments, he relished a glass of whiskey and ginger ale, savoring the simple pleasures of life.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 3:00 p.m.- 8:00p.m . Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth Church on Friday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery will be held privately.

In honor of Joey's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to South Park Meals on Wheels, 1228 Gill Hall Rd., Clairton, PA 15025, a cause that held a special place in his heart.

To Mandy, Marianne and your families- my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father and grandfather. I shared many years at Forbes with your dad, - a lot of good memories. I called your dad every March 19th, and he would answer the phone, to my delight, "St Joseph speaking". :)He will be missed. Your dad was a kind and gentle soul and it was an honor to have known him. God Bless.
