Obituary For Joyce (Taylor) Bieltz

Age 97, born and raised in Salford, England, currently of Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Beloved wife of 72 years, to the late Anthony "Tony" Bieltz; loving mother of Michael (Susan) Bieltz, Loraine (Brian) Reed and Andrew (Desiree) Bieltz; Nan of Rachel Bieltz (David DelMonaco), Maureen Bieltz (Brad Slezak), Craig (Michele) Bieltz, Alicia Reed, Vanessa (Steffi) Reed, Alexis Bieltz and Shaun Bieltz and five great grandchildren Jonah, Mirabel, Cecilia, Linus and Oliver; sister of Muriel (Albert) Calfe and the late Charles and Thomas Taylor. Joyce grew up in England, where she met the love of her life Tony and became a war bride. They had many adventures while in England which continued when they came to the USA in 1948. She was active in The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, on the Church Council, a member of the British War Brides' Association, a member of English and Scottish Dancers, former member of the Mendelssohn Choir, a longtime employee of the Pittsburgh Public School Maintenance Department, and an avid skier until age 80. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227 on Saturday January 13, 2024 from 2 -4 and 6 -8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Stewart Avenue Lutheran Church, National Park Foundation and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
