Obituary For Karen J. (Rutherford) Davic

Age 78 of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Beloved wife of 60 years to Daniel Davic; loving mother of Leah M. (Bob) Payne, Daniel J. (Susan) Davic and Brian K. "Patch" (Linda) Davic; proud Bubba of Lauren, Corey, Remy, Brina, Marissa and Derek; sister of Marcy Hoblick. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and their families. Karen retired as an oncology nurse, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, and going to the symphony. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 12-6 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 7:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to AHN Cancer Institute.

    Our condolences to Dan and family. We will remember Karen for her warmth, kindness and support through my breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.     My deepest sympathy to you all! I know and understand what she was going through these past years so well. She called me at the beginning of her journey and I hope I was able to give her my friendship and some strength during our chats. She was a beautiful person who will be missed! I hope she us in Heaven with all if our relatives and especially my Brother, Ron, who traveled a similar fight.
