Ryan, Kathleen

Age 66, of Malvern, PA, formerly of Pittsburgh, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Daughter of the late James and Kathleen Ryan; sister of the late James F. (Shirley) Ryan, Jr.; cherished sister and friend "Kack" of Maureen Marinelli; Aunt Kathy to Sharon and John (Kim) Ryan, Bobby (Valerie) Marinelli and the late Jeffrey Ryan; sister-in-law of the late Nick Marinelli. Kathleen retired from IBM Corp. She will be dearly missed by her sister "Mo", niece, nephews and her multitude of friends in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. Please plan on arriving by 9:30 a.m., service will start at 10. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to your local Animal Rescue League.

    I remember when Kath came back to Pittsburgh to visit Maureen she would stay at the house and I would walk my dog, Snowball; if Kath was outside in the front of the house I would stop and talk. We would talk while she would play with Snowball. Kath will be remembered in my thoughts as a very quiet spoken person. Also during the holidays she would come over and borrow the wine bottle opener from us always with a smile and something nice to day. There was a time when Maureen, Kath, myself and my sister Jo Ann went to lunch at the Fish Market at the Waterfront. That is where I really saw the really kind and funny person Kath was. She is already missed.
