Age 80, of Whitehall, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Daughter of the late Andrew and Martha (Teckmeyer) Halterlein; devoted wife of 48 years to David W. Park; beloved mother of Bradley S. Park of Milltown, NJ; dear sister of Ruth Halterlein (the late Tom) Murtha and Mary Ellen Halterlein; treasured aunt of Karen (Brooke) James, Dr. Kevin (Kimberly) Murtha and Daniel (Maria Sheridan) Murtha; loving great-aunt of Rachel and Natalie James and Andrew and Robert Murtha. Also survived by many cousins and friends.

Kathy was born in East Liberty, attended Divine Providence Academy, and graduated from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an RN at St. Clair Hospital, and later joined the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Captain serving at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Kathy was a Baldwin-Whitehall school nurse until her retirement.

She was an active member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and their Respect Life Group. Kathy was a loyal member of the Women's Overseas Service League (WOSL) for many years, as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the 82nd Airborne Division Association (1 SG Leonard A. Funk Chapter) where her husband, Dave, was an active member.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning, February 10, 2023 at 11:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
