Obituary For Kathryn J. (Stambrosky) Guenther

Age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Her life was devoted to her husband of 64 years, George "Fred" Guenther; her children, David Guenther (Amy) and Dianne Ritter (Dennis); and her grandchildren, Samantha Ferguson (Trey), Alex Ritter, and Elizabeth Guenther. Kathryn made it her mission to enrich their lives with her presence, wisdom, and unwavering love.

Diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis at a young age, Kathryn battled the disease with courage and grace throughout her life. She never allowed it to diminish her joy, her wit, or her devotion to family. Her perseverance inspired everyone who knew her.
Kathryn shared countless adventures with family and friends- vacations filled with laughter, weekends boating on the Yough Lake (despite her fear of water), cheering at Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers games, and traveling to new places that sparked her curiosity. She was a longtime volunteer at the Myasthenia Gravis of PA patient clinic, where she worked tirelessly at fundraisers to support others living with the condition. She also cherished her years of fellowship as a member of the Baldwin Women's Club.

Creative at heart, Kathryn loved crafts and delighted in decorating for every holiday, bringing warmth and beauty into her home. Her generosity of spirit, her humor, and her resilience will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA (MGA), Please run in the Pittsburgh PG on Wednesday and Thursday, January 14 & 15, 2026 with photo
