Formerly of Brentwood, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, just shy of her 100th birthday. Wife of the late Sidney A. Porto; mother of James D. Porto, Theodora Porto (Al Tucker), Robert J. Porto, Catherine Porto, Cindy McKay (Tony), and the late Dr. Eugenia Porto; grandmother of Jaime Miller (Erik Werner), Benjamin Miller (Kelly), Chelsea Miller (Eric Barch), Cal Tucker, Morgan Tucker, Jack McKay and Larry McKay; great grandmother of Nico, Oliver and Lola Werner and Griffin and Beck Miller; sister of the late Anna Weiss and John, Nick, Mike, and Dr. Peter Puzak. "Kay" (or "Kush”) was a natural athlete and stayed active into her 90s. In her later years she enjoyed golfing, swimming, and bowling. A tap dancer in her youth, she spent hundreds of hours jitterbugging and foxtrotting with her husband Sid during the five decades of their married life. Kay played a mean hand of 500-bid and helped organize and run a large women’s card club in Brentwood. She could often be seen chauffeuring women to card club in her red Chevy Cavalier, perched atop a phone book and leaning forward to see over the dashboard. Smart and curious, Kay had a lifelong habit of reading the daily newspaper cover to cover. She was an avid reader of psychology, philosophy, spirituality and politics, and a big fan of Carl Jung, Jimmy Carter and of course, the Steelers. Kay was ahead of her time in the '60s with her easily recognizable salt and pepper hair in a perfect bun. She enjoyed taking her kids to the library and was known for gifting their elementary school teachers with her signature “square” homemade bread. Well into her 90s, she loved eating ice-cream and laughing at The Big Bang Theory. A 1939 graduate of The Taylor Allderdice High School, she typified the strong women of The Greatest Generation. She will be the source of many cherished memories for all who knew her. Friends will be received at the John F.
