Keith D. Hepner, age 71, peacefully with his family at bedside, after a recent cancer diagnosis on Saturday, October 3, 2026, of Pittsburgh.
Beloved husband of 51 years to Karen H. Hepner; loving dad of Lori Hepner and Lisa (Henry) Swager; proud pappy of Jane and Megan; brother of David (Diana) Hepner, Dennis (Cathy) Hepner and Susan (Kim) Johnston; brother-in-law of the late Earleen (Ken) Schneider. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dr. Keith D. Hepner, Ed.D., was a professor whose career was devoted to the preparation of future teachers.

Keith earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from California University of Pennsylvania. He continued his academic journey at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his doctoral degree in the field of education.

For 25 years, Keith served as a professor at California University of Pennsylvania. Following his retirement, Keith was honored with the prestigious title of Professor Emeritus of Secondary Education. This distinction is given in recognition of a distinguished academic career and reflects the respect and appreciation earned through his years of service to the university and the field of education.

Once retired, he enjoyed all things including family, a new heart, Superheroes, Disney World and Hawaii.

Keith’s family is forever grateful for the gift of organ donation. In lieu of flowers, please register as an organ donor. Memorial contributions may also be sent in his name to the American Heart Association.
