Obituary For Keith G. McDonough

Age 68, of Charleroi, formerly of South Park, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 19, 2026. Born on May 17, 1958 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Keith lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. Keith dedicated nearly 50 years to his career across various fields. After earning a degree in welding, he worked tirelessly and eventually rose to the position of Shipping Supervisor at Bloom Engineering, Inc., where he retired after many years of service. As a long time member of Broughton Volunteer Fire Department, his commitment to his work and his determination to see every task through to completion were hallmarks of his character. Keith's home was his sanctuary, a place where he found peace and joy in retirement. He loved "putzing" around the house, taking his time with projects and savoring the freedom that retirement brought. Music was an essential part of Keith's life; rock and roll accompanied him through every task--whether mowing the lawn or shoveling snow--and brought him endless enjoyment. A man of many passions, Keith built an impressive model train display in his basement that he took pride in and enjoyed daily. He also had a lifelong love for motorcycles, cherishing the freedom and tranquility that riding brought him. Above all else, Keith treasured time spent with his family. Daily walks with his wife Beth and their beloved Beagle Stella were moments of connection and contentment. He adored his stepson John and John's wife Courtney, finding great joy in their company. The arrival of his granddaughters Addyson and Caroline brought boundless happiness into Keith's life; from the moment they were born, they held a special place in his heart. Keith is survived by his loving wife Beth; his stepson John (Courtney) Kenna; his cherished granddaughters Addyson and Caroline Kenna; his brother Dennis (Kathy) McDonough and their daughter Kelly McDonough. He will also be deeply missed by those who knew him as a kindhearted man with an empathetic nature and a sense of humor that could spark deep belly laughs. Keith often referred to others as "good eggs", an expression that perfectly encapsulates the goodness he saw in people--and embodied himself. Keith's legacy is one of kindness, hard work, humor, and love for family. May those who knew him find comfort in their memories of this remarkable man who touched so many lives with warmth and sincerity. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. A Fireman's visitation and memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m. and conclude at 6:00 p.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Broughton Volunteer Fire Department, 1030 Cochran Mill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 or to a volunteer fire department of your choice.

Keith and I grew up together, went to school together, and did some stupid stuff together, but he was modest in whatever he did, and was always a good person. I feel a deep sorrow on hearing about his passing. Sincerely, Matt Mezinze

I grew up down the street from Keith. He was one of the nicest people I ever met in my life. May he rest peacefully. Cindy Ziegler Atchison

Keith was the best neighbor anyone could ever ask for. Welcoming, generous, genuinely caring about those who lived around him. My son and I feel the loss. He will never be forgotten and I am blessed to have known him.

My very deepest sympathies to the McDonough Family. Keith always sat behind me (McClymont) through school. He was always very kind.
