Obituary For Kurt A. Hinish

Kurt A. Hinish, age 59, of Whitehall, passed away after a courageous battle on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Beloved husband of 30 years to Tawnie (Schroyer) Hinish; loving father of Cory (Brittany), Kadin (Zach), Kurt Braeden and Donovan; proud Pappy of Lena, Beau and Kyla; loyal brother of Heidi (Don) and Christian (Anne Marie); brother-in-law of Jeff (Kerrie). Also survived by nieces, nephews and countless loving friends. Kurt was a legend of the weightlifting and football communities. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

One of the strongest and toughest individuals I have ever met so it's no surprise to me to learn of the lengthy and courageous battle he waged against his illness.
