Obituary For LaVerne G. (Wozniak) Kiray

Age 92, of Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Beloved wife of 40 years to the late William S. Kiray; loving mother of William D. (Susanne), David S, Catherine Ann (the late Thomas) Schohn, Janet M. Kirk (Robert Fiumara), Stephen A. (Stephanie) and Michael J. Kiray; loving "Nana" of 11 and great-grandmother of 11; daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine (Kocinski) Wozniak; sister-in-law of Sylvia Kiray. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, One Children's Hospital Drive, 4401 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

    Patty (Wozniak) Pimpinella

    Aunt Laverne was so dear to me as a child. Her kindness and sweetness poured into my heart as she spoke in her soothing as gentle way. Even though she had her own kids to love, she always had room for me. She made me feel so special when she called me "Our Patty". Thank you for that, Aunt Laverne. There will be "hupa-shupa" in heaven now that you have joined the rest of our dear-ones who have all gone before you! I love you Dear Aunt, and wish you to sour on Angle's Wings! Love, Your Patty
