Bigante, Lawrence Nicolas, age 86, of Baldwin, formerly of East Liberty, on Monday, March 12, 2018. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary (Weber); devoted father of Lawrence C. (Denise) Bigante, RoseAnne (Mark) Szulborski, Francine (Raymond) Flaherty, Diane (John) Kindling, Mary Margaret Bigante and Laurencine (Rob) Romack; proud grandfather of Lawrence A. (Lizzy) and Gina Bigante, Nicole Szulborski, Shaun (Jessi) and Dr. Mary Catherine (Eric Sabey) Flaherty, John and Alexander Kindling and Ryan, Nicolas and Gabriella Romack; loving great-grandfather of Zeke Flaherty and Luca Sabey; son of the late Nick and Rose (Policastro); brother of Margarette Santoro and the late Henrietta and Frances Bigante. Larry was a dedicated educator in the Pittsburgh Public Schools for over 35 years. Throughout his life, he touched the lives of many including his grandchildren who he adored with all his heart. He was the patriarch of his family and the void that he will leave can never be replaced. He will live forever in the hearts of his family. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, March 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
