Szulczewski, Leonard W. Age 70, of Fombell, PA formerly of the South Side of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Good Samaritan House in Wexford, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 6, 1945 in Pittsburgh to the late Walter and Mary (Balco) Szulczewski. He graduated from South Vo-Tech High School and worked at LTV Steel Corporation in Hazelwood until he retired in 1998. He has been enjoying the retired life ever since becoming a snowbird to Bradenton, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis M. (Daugherty) Szulczewski; loving father of Leonard (Lisa) Szulczewski, Nadine (Brad) Skrlac and Jamie Lynn (Matthew) Godlewski; proud grandfather of Isabela and Madox Skrlac and Harley Godlewski; brother of Fred (Stacey) Szulczewski and David (Diane) Szulczewski; brother-in-law of Joyce Kosanovich and the late Linda Kuzma. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and loving family and friends. Len was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He spent countless hours at Pirate City in Bradenton, FL talking to the players and coaches and getting autographs with his buddies. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and watching them play baseball and softball. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 2 - 8 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Len's name to the Pittsburgh Pirates Charities, 115 Federal Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
