Obituary For Linda Jane McClory

Age 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at home with her family after a brief battle with Pancreatic cancer.

Preceded in death by her parents, George B. and Isabel McWilliams; brothers, Donald (Joanne), William (Mary Lou); and sisters, Doris (Frank) Cox and Karen J. McWilliams. Loving wife for 50 years of the late David McClory; mother of Michelle, and Shawn (Megan); beloved Grammie to Amanda (Taylor) Carso, Brett Wilson, Rose (Matthew) Porter, Sara McClory, Jayna McClory and Mat Anderson; Great Grammie to Lyra Wilson, Maxwell and Francesca Porter; sister of Linore (Richard) Dragoo and Gail (and the late Bob) Staab; aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed holidays and impromptu get-togethers. Everyone who walked through the door was treated like family. Linda was extremely proud of her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a kind and generous soul who would often perform quiet acts of kindness when she thought no one was watching. She loved working in her flower gardens, going to bingo with her sisters, collecting seasonal fabric birds and shoes, and was a hardcore Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Pelatonia Pelotonia https://www.pelotonia.org/profile/SM847063 , an organization that funds cancer research. We ask that you help keep her memory alive by performing an act of kindness such as donating school supplies, baking a batch of cookies or offering a helping hand when you can. Spread kindness.

We would like to extend our sincere thank you to family friend Barbara Coy and the other nurses, aides and staff of Care Comfort Hospice.

Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, where she will be laid to rest with her husband and best friend. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.

Michelle and family, you have my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. Linda was a very special person, and I am glad to have been able to spend some time with her and your father. My husband and I spent many evenings playing cards with Linda and Dave. Those evenings that have become memories that I treasure. She always spoke so lovingly of her family. Her love will live on through you, and I hope that you all will have comfort in the awesome memories of time spent with her. Sending you all much love.
