Age 90 1/2, of Whitehall, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026. Beloved wife of the late James W. VanAntwerp; loving mother of Jeffrey W. (Diane) VanAntwerp, Beverly J. (Timothy) Coon, Patricia (John) Smyczek, Jennifer (Dan) Lowy and the late Sandra (survived by Gary) Briggs; loving grandmother of 15; great-grandmother of 14; great-great grandmother of 1; daughter of the late Harvey and Hazel Smith; sister of the late Audrey (the late Edward) Wrebleski and James (survived by Diane) Smith. Also survived by nieces, nephews and their families. Lois volunteered at Baldwin Community United Methodist Church Food Pantry for many years. She was a Patron of the Eastern Star and loved gardening and bird watching. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 2-8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., followed by an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Monarch Hospice, 2837 Leechburg Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15068 or VisAbility Pittsburgh, 1816 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
