Obituary For Louis Kenneth "Ken" Keith

Age 86, on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Ken passed away at his home on Thursday, June 18, 2026, after a long battle with bladder cancer which he faced with the same quiet determination and strength that marked his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Mary Houston Keith (Mag) and was the loving and supportive father to daughter Sarah Gorman of Whitehall and son Dan of Charlotte, NC. He was affectionately known as "Pa" to his loved and loving
grandchildren Trevor, Bryce, Greta and Molly Gorman and Norah and Colin Keith. He is also survived by his lifelong friend who was like a brother to him, Carl Hinkle. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Kathryn Keith.

Ken was born in Roanoke, WV and grew up and graduated from high school in Lewisburg, WV. After graduation, Ken joined the United States Coast Guard and was proud to have served his country in that great organization.

After the USCG, Ken obtained business degrees from West Virginia University and University of North Carolina - Charlotte. His business career, which brought him and his family to Pittsburgh, PA, included over a decade of international banking
with extensive travel throughout Europe and Asia. He retired as Vice President of a large financial institution.

Ken was an avid golfer and fisherman, especially for sea trout in his home away from home, Ocean Isle Beach, NC and a passionate fan of WVU and Pittsburgh professional sports teams, all of which he has passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care he received at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Family Hospice. Arrangements handled privately by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, at a later date.
