Obituary For Lucille M. Oldynski

Lucille, aka "Busha" to many, has gone where the light never goes out. She lived 83 years on borrowed wings and brave breath. For over 40 years, she carried a slow, quiet illness that dimmed her flight, but not her soul as her Catholic faith was unwavering. She carried her cross with grace and incredible strength. She did not ask for much, simple conversation, good company and just the sounds of life in a full house. In return, she gave everything: patience, gentleness and the still beauty of existing without hurry. She modeled strong family values, which will pass through generations.

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, she passed peacefully with her family by her side. Lucille was preceded in death by her absolute favorite person and forever light of her life, her husband Sylvester Oldynski, as well as her parents Edward and Margaret Wuenschell.

She is survived by her three daughters, Marion (Mike aka "Bob2") Hancock, Tina (Bob) Viney and Donna (Jim) Kullen, eight grandchildren, Nicole (Greg), Ryan (Angelicia), Greg (Halie), Hannah (Lorenzo), Haley (Jordan), Ben, Josh (Gina), and Jordan and three great-grandchildren, Lemmy, Melah and Joseph. Lucille is also survived by her two siblings, Edward (Caryn) Wuenschell and Diana Simmons.

A sincere THANK YOU from her family goes out to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Bridges Hospice (Ericka, Trish, Taisha, Pastor Larry, Leonard, Megan, and Jamie). They ensured her passing was as beautiful as the life she lived.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church 101 McLay Drive, Elizabeth, PA 15037 with Rev. Thomas J. Burke - Celebrant - at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Bridges Hospice, 4130 Monroeville Blvd., Monroeville, PA 15146.

My sympathy to the children and siblings of Lucille. She was a sweet person that I will always remember kindly. I remember visiting her in Conneaut where Syl proudly displayed the Polish flag. Me and Larry attended their wedding. They are finally together again. Rest in Peace.

Aunt Lu was one of the kindest, gentlest, and softest person I ever knew. She will wear many crowns, for she was strong, loving and patient with everyone she met. And now, she is with the love of her life.
