Obituary For Malcolm J. "Jumbo" Reed

Passed in peace on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the age of 80. Preceded in death by his wife Eileen. Loving father of Kelly and Meghan (Adrian). Beloved Pap Pap to Ellen, Ana and Clare. Further survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jim will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and husband who loved watching his beloved Steelers and listening to Pirate games. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jim worked as a guard at J&L Steel and then for the US Postal Inspection Service for 30 years. Proud veteran and active member of American Legion Post 712. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at which time a blessing service and military honors will be held. Interment will be held privately.

I worked with your dad as a guard at J.&L. steel and also with the Inspection Service for 30 years. He was a good guy and a great worker. I will not be able to attend the service for him because I now live in Winter Haven Fl. May he rest in the hands of the Lord. Again I am sorry for your loss. Yours in Christ name.
