Obituary For Marian B. Joseph

October 27, 1933 - January 26, 2020

Joseph, Marian (Birringer), age 86, on Sunday, January 26, 2020, of Baldwin Borough.

Beloved wife of 65 years to Donald D. Joseph, Sr.; loving mother of Susan (the late Dennis) Cavill, Donald D. Joseph, Jr. and the late Steven Joseph; cherished grandmother of Hannah, Michael, Matthew and Sophia Joseph, Luke Smorey, Taylor Hall, Chandler Veverka, Douglas (Erica) Cavill, Eric (Nicole) Cavill and Nicholas Cavill; great-grandmother of Camden, Dixon and the late Maxwell Cavill; sister of the late Agnes Shore, Mildred Digiavanni, George Birringer and Joseph Miller. Marian loved living in Baldwin Borough and was born in the home where she lived her entire life. She was a crossing guard for St Wendelin’s for many years and enjoyed the students immensely remembering everyone of their names. Marian always had an interest in nursing. She had the drive and determination to go back to school after age 50 and was very excited to graduate at the top of her class. She was also known in Baldwin for her enthusiastic involvement in politics for over 30 years and was proud of her many accomplishments. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Thursday in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m.

    My deepest sympathy goes out to all the family in the loss of Marian. She was not only my good neighbor but a wonderful friend. I miss her calls, our talks and all that she stood for. She was truly an inspiration to me. I will never forget her. Rest in Peace Marian, Jan Puhl

    I will always hold such loving memories of her. So much more than our crossing guard. I was sick with a fever and she carried me to the office and held me until my mom picked me up. I remember how comfortable she made me. One of a kind.

    My deepest condolences to you and your family Sue on the loss of your dear Mother. She was a wonderful woman and I remember her most for her zest in politics as well as our crossing guard and your Mom She will be remembered and missed greatly by all who knew her. May her soul rest with God
