Obituary For Marilyn Palamara

Our beloved mother, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2020, of Whitehall.

Wife of the late Albert Sr.; mother of Richard (Nancy) Palamara, James (Celeste) Palamara, Ken (Nancy) Palamara, Claire (Glenn Sr.) Wallace, Albert (Michele) Palamara Jr. and John (Terri) Palamara; loving grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of three; sister of Carol (Jack) McCollum and the late Joe (survived by MaryAnn) Kummer, Bob (Rose) Kummer and Norman Jr. ; daughter of the late Norman Sr. and Clara Kummer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was an accomplished artist who won numerous awards and taught portrait classes at local colleges. Painting was one of her greatest joys, as were trips to Europe and the beach. Her selfless and loving nature, plus her endless devotion to the Catholic Faith made her our cherished mother who will be greatly missed. Please say a prayer for the repose of her soul. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. Viewing will be for immediate family only. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Due to the current public health crisis, masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. She will be buried at a private ceremony in Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Catholic Relief Services, 228 W. Lexington Street, Baltimore, MD 21201-3443.

Jan and I have wonderful memories of Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Al coming out to my parents' house for all those yearly picnics! Aunt Marilyn was always so eager to talk, give you her full attention and so very pleasant with a big smile ready for everyone. And how we enjoyed looking for her beautiful artwork at the Saxonburg Festival of the Arts every year! We want to offer the whole family our deepest sympathy in your loss and we want you to know that we are praying for you all.
