It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mario Bembic, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mario passed peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving and doting wife of 52 years and their four children. Born in Trieste, Italy, Mario was affectionately known to many as "Ucci" - but perhaps the name he loved the most was the one his grandchildren called him, "Papa".

Anyone who knew Mario will agree that his love of music was a gift he shared freely with the world, having taught himself to play the accordion, piano, and guitar. He loved to polka with his wife, put his family above all, and enjoyed sharing meals and especially donuts with his family and friends in his later years.

Mario will be most dearly remembered by his beloved wife, Carol Ann (Demblowski) Bembic, his four children and seven grandchildren, Sonia Gill Bembic (Torianna Nicole, Craver Albus), Nadina (Bembic) Robusto (Matthew Robusto, Linus Levice, Kaprian Leirvik), Anthony Bembic (Amanda Emahizer Bembic), Nicholas Bembic (Laura Harenski Bembic, Nicholas Mario, Louis Joseph, Mina Violet), and his best friend, Rose Anne Bleichner (Bob Bleichner, deceased).

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227, on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church, 3754 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish by visiting https://blessedtrinitypgh.org/donate
