Obituary For Marlene R. Nix

January 14, 1936 - October 24, 2018

Nix, Marlene Rita, of Whitehall, formerly of Brentwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of 48 years to the late James Lloyd Nix; loving mother of Jamie (Joe) Montgomery and James (Shelley) Nix; loving and very generous grandmother to Joseph, Patrick, Katy, Eva, and Miles; daughter of the late Thomas John and Cathryn Rita Cleary; sister of Kay Kweder and the late Richard "Dick", Thomas, Edward, and James Cleary. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Marlene worked for Mellon Bank and for the Borough of Brentwood. She volunteered her time at St. Albert the Great Church and enjoyed her time with family and family vacations to Myrtle Beach. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Albert the Great Church, 3171 Churchview Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
