Obituary For Mary Ann (Haywood) Klein

Age 64, of Baldwin Borough, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Beloved wife of 30 years to Ronald Klein; cherished mother of Ryan Smith (Leah Firestone) and Jeremy Klein; adored daughter of John Fredrick and the late Anna Mary (Groll) Haywood; sister of John (Susan) Haywood, Carol (Felix) Magnotta, Anna Vitali, Lisa (Bob) Shore; sister-in-law of Christine Haywood, Donna Haywood, Gary (Linda) Klein and Karen (Jim) Voelker; devoted niece of Sis Shore. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Jeff and Steven Haywood. She was loved and will be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Mary will forever be remembered for her kindness to others and the joy she brought to all. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Saturday in the funeral home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Sean Sluganski Memorial Fund, c/o ParkView Community Federal Credit Union, 2100 Eden Park Boulevard, McKeesport, PA 15132.

    I worked with Mary at the Post-Gazette for over 20 years. Mary always treated me with respect, especially in my early years and during troubled personal times in which I was trying to recover. That didn't occur very often. She got it. Peace to her family and especially her children
