KOETT, MARY ANN (SCHRICKER), age 69, of Baldwin Borough passed away peacefully on March 31, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's surrounded by family and friends. Mary Ann was born in Pittsburgh on September 10, 1944 to Stella D. (Low) and William J. Schricker both of whom preceded her in death. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to her husband Dale; cherished mother of Dan & Cassondra Koett and Kelly Koett (Jason) and loving grandmother of Jonathan and Max. Mary Ann was the dear sister of Bill Schricker (Doo), Aunt Nancy DiMeglio (who was a constant at her side the past four years), and Jack Schricker (Bev) and the late Shirley Hart (survived by Tex). She was the treasured daughter in-law of Helen and the late George Koett as well as the precious sister in-law of Carol Sauter (Joe), Dave Koett (Cathy), and Paul Koett (Renee). Mary Ann was the adoring aunt and great aunt of dozens of nieces and nephews including her goddaughters Kim Criss (Bob) and Amanda Schricker (Nate) as well as numerous cousins. Her "other" sons Dan Simoni (Michelle) and Carl Morosetti (Ashley) also brought great joy to her life. Mary Ann especially enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Bonnie Rechtorik, with whom she enjoyed decades of adventures, shopping trips to the outlets, and of course strawberry cheesecake.

Mary Ann's world revolved around her Christian faith, family, friends, and flower garden. Aunt Nancy would say that Mom could grow roses on the sidewalk. She took great pride and spent countless hours every day, spring through the end of fall, meticulously tending to her yard. Mary Ann had a special connection with her pet dachshunds as they were her constant companions and a source of humor, cheer, and affection.

Life growing up on Deervue Drive was special not only for her children, but for all the neighborhood kids. Scooby Doo swimming pools, picnic bench diving boards, and PB&J for everyone was just part of the fun created by Mary Ann during the summer months. Water battles with Connie & Bob in the backyard, birthday parties with all the extras, vacations to Holden Beach, day-trips to Aunt Shirley's, volunteering at the Vintage Grand Prix with Phil & Evelyn, Christmas mornings that made the spirit of the season come alive (complete with a tree from Chuckie's), and New Year's Day pork and sauerkraut with a house full of family and friends were some of the countless and unforgettable memories she made possible.

Mary Ann was a woman of tremendous strength, courage, and conviction. Her humble and endearing ways were inspiring and she was a shining example of how to live a life filled with meaning and purpose. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through her family and friends.
