Mary Carolyn "Carol" Ackermann (Campbell), age 92, peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, of Brentwood.

Loving wife of the late Donald L. Ackermann; beloved mother of John (Betsy) Ackermann, Keith (Sandy) Ackermann, Laura (Joe) Bradley and Jeff (Jill) Ackermann; proud "Grandma Ack" of Tim (Courtney), Brian, Alyssa, Amanda, Bryson, Kendall and Colton; sister of the late Troy (Marion) Campbell and Jim (survived by Marty) Campbell. Carol became a singer and performer at a very early age. She was the lead vocalist for Lee Kelton’s Orchestra, often performing at Westview Dance land and broadcasting from WJAS RADIO. She later sang with Jerry Brill’s band and Graham Grubbs Orchestra. Carol sang in church choirs and performed solos all around the South Hills. She was very dedicated to her church, Brentwood Presbyterian and did much to help with their food pantry. Carol worked for the YMCA for many years, taking great pride and helping with Camp Happy Days. After retiring from the YMCA, she took on the rule of church secretary at Brentwood Presbyterian, working well into her 80s. She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, and many many friends.

I worked with Carol at the Cloverleaf YMCA. What a wonderful lady! One of the things she used to say still makes me laugh....."I have cookie sheets older than you"! What a great mentor and friend. She will be missed.
